TRCN Registration Guide: Portal, Fees, Documents & Steps
TRCN registration runs on trcn.gov.ng/registration in four steps: check eligibility, prepare documents, register online and pay, then take the PQE. TRCN states the overall process takes 1–2 weeks. Exact fee amounts are not published as static figures — only an interactive fee calculator.

The 4-step process
Per trcn.gov.ng/registration:
TRCN states the whole process takes roughly 1–2 weeks from start to finish. This depends on how quickly your documents are verified — start early if your diet date is close.
Where to register
Registration itself happens at trcn.gov.ng/registration. For PQE candidate sign-up specifically — exam number, exam slip — TRCN runs a separate self-service portal at teachers.trcn.gov.ng/cbt, which asks for your full name, email, phone, 11-digit NIN, and your qualification certificate or matric number (plus your existing TRCN number if you have one). No prior login is needed to start. TRCN verifies your qualification first, then opens payment, then issues your exam number and slip.
Fees: what TRCN has and has not published
TRCN does not publish a static fee table. The registration page instead offers an interactive JavaScript fee calculator that computes your fee from your qualification category and induction type. We checked for a hidden API behind it and found none — the number only appears once you use the calculator yourself on trcn.gov.ng/registration. Treat any specific naira figure you see elsewhere as unverified until you confirm it there.
Documents required
TRCN's public page confirms accepted file formats — .pdf, .jpg or .png — but does not list the full document checklist on the public page; the actual list appears once you start the registration flow. Expect at minimum your qualification certificate and means of identification.

Is TRCN registration open right now?

TRCN's registration portal is open year-round for new applicants at trcn.gov.ng/registration; specific PQE exam slots follow the May and November diet calendar. We have not found a published "registration closed" state — if the portal shows one when you visit, that overrides this page.
